Old colourised picture of my grandfather Alexander Gilchrist Tait (1884-1939), coal miner at Canderigg Colliery. Died after a heart attack at the pit. One of many generations of miners born in Glenbuck, Ayrshire. Family moved to Stonehouse in early 1900’s and lived with his parents and siblings at 3 Camnethan Street. Married Elizabeth Gillies, daughter of a Stonehouse weaver.
